Pre-1997 source material from Peter Mandelson's 'The Third Man'.

This morning we were invited to a breakfast hosted by Peter Mandelson to launch his book, ‘The Third Man’.

The event was a very interesting one - @anthonypainter has a write up here.

All attendants were provided with a set of source materials from the book, we thought it would be worth sharing these, so are embedding them below.

Comparing trending topics

One of the features that most excites us about the ‘Media Watch’ channel we launched earlier today, is the ability to compare trending topics across UK media.

Introducing a 'Media Watch' Channel

We’re delighted to announce the launch of a new Channel on Tweetminster - “Media Watch.”

The Channel brings together all UK media on Twitter, and presents a livestream of the tweets of journalists and news sources, the most shared stories within UK media and by journalists, and trending topics.

The Channel also includes filters by source, and like all of our other Channels integrates Twitter’s @anywhere - meaning you can tweet, follow and reply to people directly from the Channel.

We hope this Channel helps you follow what’s happening across UK media and makes it easier to track and compare stories and trends within sources, and interact with those that are reporting on the issues that matter to you.

How to use Tweetminster's Lists for media monitoring

Earlier today we launched several lists aggregating UK media by source. These can be found on our lists page on Twitter.

Lists are a good way of organising and following a select number of people and organisations on Twitter. The media lists are hopefully a helpful addition to our lists of MPs on Twitter, UK MEPs on Twitter, Government Departments, ministers and the Westminster Wire, a list of all the top-sources and commentators around UK politics.

Lists are also a great tool to monitor media rather easily. If you use a Twitter client, like TweetDeck for example, you can very easily set up columns with any list - this means using Tweetminster’s various lists, one could easily follow all UK media, MPs, Government communications and key commentators & influences all from one platform.

While if you’re keen to follow and track relevant tweets around key topics, such as the Economy or Foreign Affairs, then check out our Channels. Alongside a livestream of tweets, Channels also include the most shared news stories and trends around each topic. We will soon make available feeds for the various Channels too and are working on several ways to make it easy to distribute the content of Channels as easily and widely as possible.
